I'm working with the internet radio at my school, and hopefully by this wednesday, I will have my own show (time is pending as of now, but if anyone is interested, I'll post it later).
This is planned to be a metal show (duhhhhh?), with pretty much every genre in there somewhere. Unfortunately, none of the songs can have profanity (except for "ass", "damn" and "hell", the latter of which I don't even view as profanity to begin with). This severely limits the possible songs, but I'm pretty sure I can get around it.
Suggestions? Requests?

People at your school want to hear metal?... not to mention you live in Alabama.

Got a great southern sound to it and a fitting title.

Don't do a metal show. LOL.
I'm serious. It's a lot of time and effort for like 5-10 people to listen. I guess if that's worth it for you, go for it.

its not gonna be all metal all the time, it'll have a decent amount of classic rock and stuff too
but I feel the need to throw in some metal every now and then

When you really get into it, you'll realize there are a lot more songs to choose from than you think. I had a radio show for four years and never came across any problems. And if the vocals were harsh enough and no one could tell, I'd just let it fly. But even in death metal and such, there are plenty of songs without the profanity that the FCC doesn't like.

Fuck that. I had a following on mine. Had tons of online listeners and people on campus. And our broadcasting range was only about a half mile (so basically the campus) and the online listeners. I had a ton of online listeners.

When I first joined an internet radio station, we played a lot of stuff (later just "I played" after being removed from Dissenssion) with questionable lyrical content but we never got into trouble for that. The intro to our show had some sound-clips from old nazi films and it sounded like some folks with machine guns were opening fire on civilians. We were playing Incantation, Dissection, Master, Autopsy, Carpathian Forest, all the time and making jokes about child porn (and some other nasty shit I can't remember), and hell, we even played "Preteen Deathfuck" by Nattefrost probably. Apparently our superiors were like "lol w/e" on this. Who can actually decipher most of extreme metal anyways? Anyways, see if you can get your show at the watershed hours (starts at 10 PM in the US). They should presumably be more lenient with content on those times.
*EDIT Hell, just see if you can throw in a disclaimer stating that this show will have content that some viewers may find offensive or something like that. See if your superiors are fine with that.

It's a fun experience and it gives you an excuse to blare shit extremely loud in a small room with big-ass booth-spookers. Plus, people calling and then going on air can lead to some hilariously awkward situations .

Tell them to go fuck themselves, and do a podcast or something along that lines where you can play songs with swears. Find another way to get laid by the girls at your school.

I'll let you know when I get the show, dude! You're welcome to call in.
I actually plan on doing some adverting for the forum on the show, so we can get some more people to talk on here. Hopefully, the new recruits won't be total trolls or epic n00bs or anything of that nature.
