The reviews aren't something you can go by. Assassin's creed and Overlord 2 both got in the 6's and they were quality games, particularly Assassin's Creed. The thing is that I like 'running around and doing missions' games. Oblivion, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, GTA San Andreas etc. but GTA4 for me was a major disappointment

Does not compute. Assassin's Creed was the most repetitive game going. Go to the guild, go pickpocket/sit on a bench, find the guy, kill him, run away. Repeat. There was nothing more to it than that. And you say GTA4 was repetitive?!

And overlord got really old, really fast. I'd be amazed if the second was actually better...

It depends how you play it really, the one great flaw in AC was that it was far too easy. You could slaughter your way to the target and kill everyone in the area without taking a scratch. I've been playing it recently as a far more stealthy type character. Every kill is different though, you gather information, figure out a route and try and kill the target without killing any guards and then legging it. The scenery, storyline, atmosphere etc. in AC is unmatched.

GTA4 had none of that to be honest. It was an impressive game sure but the missions were snoozefests. One man cannot crush a whole army with a pistol. The humour in it was embarrasing compared to SA and it felt incredible dull. Not to mention they took out a whole load of fun stuff.

It is, it's much better. It's funnier, more challenging and less repetive than the first one.

Has anyone here checked out the new Wolfenstein? I'm too lazy to read through the thread to see if it has been mentioned.

ODST is fun, not worth 60 dollars, maybe around 40 would be more reasonable. The gameplay is much different from Halo 3, it's not "halo without shields" which was relieving. The biggest downfall is that there's no matchmaking specifically for ODST, there's 4 player co-op and firefight, which is a blast.

One of my friends told me about a game called Dante's Inferno based on...well Dante's Inferno.

It's for xbox 360 and it looks FUCKING AWESOME!!!!! You're a dude who's love is taking by satan and you are going through the 9 circles of hell to find her, the makers have really thought about the enviroment, from what I've seen.

To bad I'm not going to be able to play it, but atleast I can watch it at my friend.

I believe it's hitting the stores 9th of Febuary 2010.

Modern Warfare 2, holy shit. Didn't have school today so I got it at three yesterday, started the single player at 3, finished at 9, then proceeded directly to multiplayer, good thing I'm sick or I would feel like a loser.

I've only played multiplayer and don't like it quite as much as the first one but I'm sure some of that is just needing to get used to all the new maps and other stuff.

I need to get Modern Warfare 2 and can't wait for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The pre-holiday season sucks, I don't have money for buying games.

Completed Onimusha Warlords. It was pretty shit and not too difficult. I think I ended up with all the journals to collect, 16/20 'hidden' items accumulated by accident and had a fuckload of items I never needed, including some dozen 'medicine' which acts a full health restore, a talisman (revive when you die) and I never actually needed my gun. That was the hardest setting? :/

Next in line: MoH: Rising Sun.

Yeah at first I was kinda overwhelmed with all the new features, the custom killstreaks are probably the hardest to get used since you need to find something that you like.

It took me awhile to find the right gun setup too. I'm getting a lot better now that I've played it quite a bit.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii is one of the best games on the system for sure. Anyone who played Super Mario Bros 1-3 or World and has a Wii needs this game!
