Ok, time for me to go on my rant.

If you were conscious for the 90s, you cannot call yourself a gamer without the name "Monkey Island" sparking your excitement levels. Swash-buckling witty fun with the infamous Guybrush Threepwood, the blonde macho man with a razor sharp insult-sword-fighting wit (insults written by Orson Scott Card nonetheless), able to hold his breath underwater for ten minutes and with a curious fascination with three headed monkeys. Before "Pirates of the Carribean," Jack Sparrow was Guybrush Threepwood, Elizabeth Swann was called Elaine Marley and Davy Jones was called LeChuck. Yes, Monkey Island I+II got some extensive playing and no adventure game since has been quite like it.

Then number III arrived, and whilst handled by a subsidiary had lost the input of the creator, the jokes were there but they didn't come as thick and fast. It didn't feel quite right, and by the time the fourth had rolled out they had almost dried up altogether. I wasn't even going to bother with the 5th that finally came out almost decade later until I heard the creator was back on board. Split into 5 sections (im up to the third) and its back on form. The jokes have never been better (in the first act you encounter a glass-blowing pirate specialising in unicorns who gives you a letter of the alphabet. Specifically, a 'U' Tube for example), Elaine has never been better voiced as she strops, tantrums, yells and complains that she wasn't yelling but projecting and that when tied up by a villainous pirate hell bent on unveiling his voodoo curse on the Carribean, its not the best time to make small talk. Theres the quest for L'espoonga Grande (the big sponge), crazy sea creatures, and introduces the pirate hunter "Morgana Laflay" and first mate Winston, who likes it when you point at things. Two decades on and Monkey Island has never felt more alive.

never played any of the money island games, I think my friend has the first one and I didn't know it was made by Tim Schafer so I kinda over looked it. I currently need to get around to playing the God Of war series after I end my Viva Pinata/Call Of Duty addiction.

Has anyone here played Shadow Of The Colossus for PS2? My favorite game hands down.

Great game. Not my all time favorite. But in my top ten for sure.

Modern Warfare 2, holy shit. Didn't have school today so I got it at three yesterday, started the single player at 3, finished at 9, then proceeded directly to multiplayer, good thing I'm sick or I would feel like a loser.
I've only played multiplayer and don't like it quite as much as the first one but I'm sure some of that is just needing to get used to all the new maps and other stuff.

Yeah at first I was kinda overwhelmed with all the new features, the custom killstreaks are probably the hardest to get used since you need to find something that you like.
It took me awhile to find the right gun setup too. I'm getting a lot better now that I've played it quite a bit.

What your K/D at? I peaked at 1.61 for a while but right now im in the upper 1.5s

Bought the Unreal Pack on steam doing the christmas off it was like 13 for 5 games so I was in on it. UT2004 is still as good as I thought it was and UT3 was better than I remembered it, just don't play campaigns they are shit.

I just started playing Xenogears again yesterday. I forgot how great it was. Too bad I'm not yet at the parts where it becomes a complete mind-fuck.

I played the demo. It was fun. It's a bastard child of God of War.

To some degree or another I feel like I should have been expecting that...

I can't wait to see the world they create more than the actual gameplay I think. It will just be so tight to see what I have read interpreted by others and put to canvas (in a matter of speaking)
