Would it happen to involve an Ozzy doll? We might have some "donations" to add to your "collection", if you get what I mean.

Hey thanks for the only welcome. tongue I mainly go for post-rock like God is an Astronaut, Maybeshewill, Explosions in the Sky, Yndi Halda etc. but I'm open to new things. I haven't explored the metal world at all.

And thanks, though that's not me in the picture.

Then be sure if you have not already that you check out this thread, if you have not already .
http://lifer.heavenforum.org/non-metal-discussion-f5/the-post-rock-thread-t17.htm

There are plenty of Post-Rock fans in here. If Post-Rock appeals to you. Perhaps Post-Metal (Isis, Pelican, Jesu, and some Neurosis) is what you may enjoy. Also try Ambient, wether mixed with Black Metal(All the Cold, ColdWorld, and VLE) or Dark Ambient (Lustmord).

Lustmord - Heresy
mediafire.com ?zth4jnzdjzy
Earth - Hex: Or Printing the Infernal Method
mediafire.com ?w1wtm5zymdm
Also check out Agalloch if you have not. Here is a sample.

And again, welcome.

Ooh wow, thanks for those. I've downloaded the two links and will check out the recommended bands for Post-Metal. (Haha Neurosis)

That thread was also very helpful. Though I have most of the albums from that thread. The ones I don't I might get.

I've heard Agalloch before but I don't remember what I thought of them. I did like that song though. Which Agalloch album is best to try?

For me. The Mantel is my favorite all time Agalloch album. That song is off of that album. All of their albums are in the Music Blog courtesy of Thomas.

Some people say The Mantle, others say Pale Folklore. I prefer Ashes against the grain. There isn't an answer beyond "all of them."

You ought to look for Adam Laurentz for post-rock, he seems to be the most obsessive about the genre. All I can really suggest is "Made out of Babies" for post-metal and "Mutyuma" for a classical/post-rock. They'll both be on the blog.

EDIT: Oh, and belated welcome. My mind is reeling in existential philosophical contemplation at the moment.

Ah well then, I guess I have to try all of those.

And hah, I know that guy. He's the one that introduced me to post-rock. Oh and thanks for that, downloading those too. Gotta listen tonight.

Thank you. Ha, that's two now.
