technically, I'm a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I studied for 6 years.

Although I stopped because of school/time/money, martial arts will always have a spot in my heart.

I just worked the bag for like 30 minutes and it was amazing, even if I'm outta shape.

Anyone else do martial arts?
Style?Years? Trophies?

I tried it out for 3 weeks then decided not to continue.

Full contact sparring against someone 3 belts higher than you when trying to remember your stances was not fun.

That's because you don't spar in stances Wink

-edit- that's kind of a bad move for that dojo. Most won't even allow white belts to sparr at all, let alone full contact.
If it ws something you were interested in, I'd try it again, somewhere else.

Im too lazy nowadays. I keep myself busy writing. I mean, I write random crap on guitar, run three blogs and now a forum. Yeah, I need *more* things to occupy my time tongue

It was a small group, and evidently hadn't had anyone new for a while. They believed in improving through practice or something, but meant I had to be paired with someone a lot better than me. Then it hit me, why am I paying to get beat up?

I've wanted to get into something, but the time is not available at the moment.

You're not you're paying to learn how NOT to get beat up Razz
I used to spar master black belts (3rd) degree when I was a young rank. It is a good practice, but yeah, you can get knocked around a lot.

Same as you, Lindsey. I'm a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and have taken Judo, Aikido, and Kenpo all in the past.

I'm out of practice though :'[

I did Judo for a few weeks when I was about 8. Tai Chi has always interested me though.

I've done Karate and a little bit of Tae Kwan Do. I like the whole idea of learning techniques, but, with karate anyway, I hated doing kata.

I really, really, really, really wanna learn Jeet-Kune-Do. *Nods*

I've practiced Ka-Chirs-Mit for my whole life. It is easily one of the most effective styles, deadly actually.

I took a bunch in the past, but the only one I actually enjoyed was Judo back in junior high, mostly because I got to throw people around, including my gym teacher. And his son.
