It seems not to click with a lot of people, but I can't really see why. Depending on the band, I think there are some of the most beautiful atmospheres and melodies to be found in that genre. It's a genre that really makes me "feel" more than any other genre can.
Because im not sure what its trying to accomplish. "Raw" atmosphere as it were seems better suited to Ambient music. Even Gothic and BM is pretty atmospheric, then theres symphonic as well that all combine atmosphere with a solid, rooted genre. Post-Rock doesn't have that 'base' as it were. Its almost like an ambient that tries to be rock at the same time, layering atmosphere with 'catchiness' (and I don't mean that in a bad way), I sort of waft in and out. It doesn't capture my attention as well as other bands, and neither does it present an atmosphere as well as my ambient likings. Its just kind of...there.

Hmm. I'm not quite on the same wavelength with you on what post-rock actually is. It doesn't have a solid root genre really. There are elements of rock, sure - but it has evolved into something that is barely rock related in recent history. Take something like Yndi Halda for example. One of my favorites as of late. You have this fairly normal instrumentation with light electric guitar, bass, and drums, etc. But other not-so-traditional instrumentation like violin and cello are added and...
Hell, I don't know what I'm saying. All I know is that I enjoy it. A lot. The way it makes me feel is the reason I listen to it. I find something like "So Long, Lonesome" by EITS, or "Illuminate My Heart, My Darling" & "A Song for Starlit Beaches" by Yndi Halda to just have the most magical sound, even if it is not rooted to any particular genre and sort of floating there.
Or "Dipole Experiment" by The Evpatoria Report. So many layers of sound that make this thick, epic atmosphere that I want to last forever. The song is 11 minutes long and I would be absolutely thrilled if there were some existent hour-long version.
What post-rock really is nowadays, I don't know. But I love it, for the most part.

Precisely. Its not just atmospheric music, that would be ambient, and neither does it have roots tying to another genre like atmospheric black, or symphonic. Its kind of not really here nor there; an 'in between' or attempt at a combination of the two.

Yeah I do. I recognized the logo, but not the rest of it. Is that an album cover of theirs?

It's not an album cover, and I'm not sure whether it's something a fan put together or what. The words 'Kraft durch Krebs' is a reference to this song:
