My friend just gave me Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Night Castle. So epic, it has a 64 ( i think) page booklet inside which fills in parts of the story between the songs, I plan on reading it sometime soon while listening to the album.

I dont care what anyone says. TSO rules.

People say otherwise?! Me and my dad have seen them the past three years and every year it gets more and more amazing, and I'm really glad they decided to break away from the Christmas themed stuff it shows the entire thing isn't a gimmick.

I enjoyed the first half of the show the first time I saw them, but the second half of the show where they do the other shit that isn't Christmas themed is fucking incredible.

My last long-term girlfriend hated them. Thought they were ridiculous. This coming from a woman who also actually liked Disturbed and that Clutch had no stoner rock influences. She was older and fucking stupid. Obviously since I was younger, I had no idea what I was talking about.

I just got it yesterday and haven't quite had time to listen to the whole thing yet. What I have heard is pretty good though.

Grado SR60i headphones (sound awesome!)
Metronome (currently feeling pretty motivated to improve my awful guitar playing)
CDs:
Wuthering Heights - The Shadow Cabinet
Insomnium - Above the Weeping World
Opeth - Watershed (glad I waited to here this on CD, but not sure why I didn't buy it sooner)
Ensiferum - Victory Songs (special edition with bonus tracks & Dragonhead EP)
Buckethead - Electric Tears
Equilibrium - Sagas
Sonic toothbrush (last month a plumber knocked my old electric one onto the floor and quite possibly stamped on it a few times)
8GB memory card for my phone
Blow (DVD)
Socks, chocolates, a scarf, towels, clothes etc
Money
Vouchers/gift cards

I tend to buy my family presents that I appreciate myself (obviously that I think they would too). I got my dad 'Pink Floyd - Wish you Were Here' and my brother 'Kyuss - ...And the Circus Leaves Town', which I knew they liked. I also got everyone in my family some nice tea and coffee (from Whittard of Chelsea), which according to my house mate I'm rather obsessional about.

My mom took a puzzle from my room, wrapped it, and gave it to me. I opened it and giggled a lot. Gotta love my mom!

She made a donation to a charity in my name. Was pretty sweet.

My intern got me Opeth's Morningrise on Vinyl, which made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Gotta love metal tots!

I didn't get any major gifts this year but I got some pretty cool stuff. I got a Jerod Mayo Patriots jersey and the book The Other Lands by David Anthony Durham which is pretty sweet. I also got a really nice illustrated collection of Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars stories.
