I play a lot of Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and CoD: WaW on Xbox Live and I've also been enjoying Assassin's Creed.
Definitely looking forward to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I really need to expand my horizons with Xbox 360 games, but I don't have the kind of money to be renting/buying all the time like many of my friends do.
I cant wait for Assasins Creed 2 to come out. Supposedly they took all the bad crap about it, and fixed it.

I'm going to start reviewing games. They'll be short, similar to Bawden and probably mainstream games but I think it'd be fun to give my opinions in a more formatted scale. Hopefully that'll lead onto further discussion etc.
Can I join you? I've been following the industry since I was 12 - 13 somewhere around there
Go ahead, it's only me saying what I think of games in a more formatted way, there's no formalities about it.. probably won't start for a while. It's the first week back to school so I get loads of work and I also need to do some other stuff.
On topic, Assassin's Creed 2... Oh my god! It looks so good. Mass Effect 2 coming out soon, Bioshock 2, CoD4 2 coming out.
So many good games, so little money
I didnt like Mass Efect to much tbh

The absolutely huge problem with Assassin's creed is how easy it is to survive. The guards cannot kill you, of course one on one they shouldn't stand a chance but when it's 5 on 1 they should win everytime. They attack you one by one! It's a complete joke, they should all attack you at once but no, they take turns. It's totally unrealistic, it just means you can fight your way to wherever you want to go or whoever you want to kill. There's no need for preparation or stealth because you can just blast through. Then once you've killed the target you can just kill everyone who attacks you afterwards and from the looks of the new AC they haven't changed this which pisses me off a lot.
Mass Effect was pretty good although way too short and there weren't enough side missions and the ones that did exist were mindnumbingly boring.

Oh, by the way, none of you can beat my Mario Kart DS Rainbow Road time. I'm fucking intense at that game.... what can I say, I spent around days and days travelling last month. I had to fill my time somehow.

Has anyone played Bully? It's by Rockstar Games (Grand Theft Auto). It's generally the same idea, except you're in a boarding school. One my favorite games. It also has the second best soundtrack imo, (first would be God of War).

I really liked Bully. Had it for PS2 and it was one of my favorites. I haven't played it since they made an updated version for Xbox 360 and the newer consoles though.

The updated version is called Bully: Scholarship Edition, which I am now playing on PC. I played Bully on PS2 too, and there seems to be no difference between the 2 versions =/ Gameplay, missions, objects and everything is the same.

Ah, so no difference other than it can be played on the newer consoles I see. I would have figured as much. I really liked that game though. Seems like not many people are into it.

What do you mean? The original got rave reviews everywhere, as did the re-release. Reviews from people who actually played it. It's a great game.

Sorry, regardless of reviews I don't have enough cash to spend on games that look like PG versions of GTA. Besides you can't go off reviews, GTA got a 10 from IGN and I thought that it was pretty average game.

If you think about it, GTA in a school is an awesome idea (obviously minus the excessive violence), and it works well, regardless of whether you like the idea. You can go off reviews, as they're usually objective and are written with attention to functionality and diversity. If I don't like driving games, and I play PGR or something and think it's shit, is that a fair assessment? Anyway, GTA deserves a 10, and I cannot fathom you genuinely thinking it's nothing more than average. You liking it or not is something entirely different to the actual quality, you get me? It's not really as subjective as music.

It's a quality game and essentially flawless but I don't think it was actually that good. San Andreas was hilarious and really damn fun. All the missions in GTA4 seemed to be assassinations or blowing something up, really boring compared to the last game. It actually took me quite a while to bring myself to finish it.
The reviews aren't something you can go by. Assassin's creed and Overlord 2 both got in the 6's and they were quality games, particularly Assassin's Creed. The thing is that I like 'running around and doing missions' games. Oblivion, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, GTA San Andreas etc. but GTA4 for me was a major disappointment. Besides I have weekends to get away from school lol.

Does not compute. Assassin's Creed was the most repetitive game going. Go to the guild, go pickpocket/sit on a bench, find the guy, kill him, run away. Repeat. There was nothing more to it than that. And you say GTA4 was repetitive?!
