What do you mean by that? You can't find one?
Finding a good bassist is next to impossible. 90% of bassists tend to be terrible guitarists who switched to play bass instead.
That's actually kind of why I wanted to play bass. I could get into so many bands for just playing bass haha but also because I wanted to write my own stuff (that you need to review
)
I don't think that's really true. The bassists at my school are awful. The two in my band don't play guitar and never have yet they're mindless and fairly useless. In my old band if the bassist didn't turn up then i'd just pick up the bass and it would always be better. I'm a pretty good bassist, I improved quickly and actually think like a bassist when I write. Thing is that with heavy metal the best thing is generally just to play the root notes as it makes the riffs more 'reinforced' and thus heavier. Most of the guitar players, drummers, bassists at my school are awful. I had a fall out with my band who had the only good drummer in my year so can't start a new band with him and the other guitarist is pretty meh and rarely turns up.
