Whao, that is a hilarious song. I was surprised to see how much I actually understood. Probably because most of the contact i`ve had with Germans has been with Southern Germans. Awsome song, though. Currently, 11,000 songs, not sure about the size because a lot of my count is pod casts, and I'm too lazy to figure out what it is without podcasts.
I also lost my other hard drive but it had 40 gigs with essentially no overlap because my music tastes were so different then (it was all punk, classic rock, and underground hip hop).
I've owned around 500 CD's (I'm guessing low here). Now it's 15 CD's because I threw out two shoe boxes full of them because they are scratched to shit (surprise, surprise considering they were kept in shoe boxes) the rest were stolen, and I'd say about 20 of them I never heard because I let friends borrow them the day I bought them and never got them back.

At some point just before summer, I had about 120GB. After constant filtering throughout the summer (and by filtering, I mean keeping the stuff that is "very good/excellent" only. Not things that are good, alright or "decent"), it's right under 50GB. My most plays were, are and will probably always be Iron Maiden.
I have around 12 CD's or something (mainstream shit I don't even listen to anymore), and about 15-20 classical CD's from my mother (mainly Mozart, Bach, Wagner, Beethoven and Vivaldi). She has other stuff but I told her to just keep it to herself.
For the next couple of months, I'm staying away from DLing. I need to listen/re-listen to over half the stuff I have. Mainly because there are a few that I can't remember which genre they fall under.

CDs: ~300
Vinyl: ~40 very hard to come by good vinyl releases where I am.
Cass: ~100 mainly consisting of concerts I have been to. quality too poor to MP3 but listenable.

I did have over 160GB, but I lost at least 10GB when my computer crashed a couple of months ago and I deleted another 20GB of music that I'd either purchased or no longer wanted. (Can't check the actual amount as my computer is currently 120 miles away).
Last time I counted my CD collection was just over 400, but it's now nearer 500 (maybe over).

I'm the same. I'll go on a massive downloading spree for one sub-genre, but often I won't be in the mood for listening to much of it by the time it's all downloaded, until weeks or even months later LOL!

I keep my music under 7.8 GB or whatever the capacity of the iPhone is once formatted. If it goes over i delete some old stuff, generally theres a few things i can delete without missing too much. I used to keep all my music all the time, then I had about 40GB, but i decided that was too much and i never listened to half of it. I boxed up the CDs, and deleted it. It would take hours to re-import it now.
