On the top right, underneath the "quote" button, you see that plus and minus? That can be used to indicate like, a + 1 or - 1 "reputation" on the user's profile. John, yours is 2 and Aaron's is 4, it's right under your avatar.
I guess it's similar to the "like" button on Facebook.
