Can the Jazz thread be made sticky and if Thomas could add his Sun Ra links that would be great.

I haven't read all of this section, but a sticky thread for noobs to this external forum. For instance people said we can do polls on this, how exactly is that done, can anyone start a poll etc. Or how to put cool little graphics in your post like the head banging stick man I keep seeing.

Like that thread you mean? I'll make it sticky but...yeah... Yeah I figured there was one, the admins etc. have been pretty good at getting this site running well (BTW Great job the forum is coming along nicely). But I am prone to being lazy/stupid. I'll check out the thread.

I probably missed something, but why have a Writer's Den if it's locked?

Hasn't been finished yet. We need to tally up all the threads to be shipped across and write a rules section. I plan on copying across my guide and stickying it as well. I believe Dale was in the middle of doing it when the server went down - Im sure he'll finish it off when he gets back. I assure you, its only temporary I believe the intention is to remove the 'Official X review' threads and replace it with individual posts with a tag indicating what its of (E.g. [Movie], [Game], [Book], [Fiction], etc, etc). But as I said, more details to come.

Could someone please explain the new rank tags ('The Philosopher', 'On Parole', etc.) to me? I don't get what they're alluding to

The Philosopher is an easy one. Read the lyrics to Death's song of the same title.

Here is a question. How come when I first come on to the site I see all the red dots for topics that were written in after I left? But as soon as I click on the topic they all disappear?

They denote messages that you have yet to read. Since it isn't magical, it concludes if you are on the topic then you've read it. It'll flag up when a new post is made. The only bug here is a minor one - sometimes it flags up after you post. Just make sure you let it go back to the topic once you've posted something and it should be fine.

There's a button at the top right, "View posts since last visit" that I love to use, it's a charm. If there's any way we can have a button that directs the page to the first unread post that would be awesome.

Im not sure what you're asking, to change the code to automatically redirect you to the last unread post? Whilst this could be interesting I expect it would be a real bitch to code. What I can do is take that link and put it on the index between FAQ and Members, so its within easier access though. I can also look to see if I can't figure out its current setup and see what can be done about making a redirect link, but in truth dont hold your breath.

So whilst I didn't find that, I got side tracked by a new option. If there are unread posts in a thread, you can click the little arrow and it will automatically take you to the last one you didn't read \o/

My point is that is on and off for me. This morning for instance. I came in and it had the red dots showing all the newly post topics. I clicked on the first one read it and them returned to the main menu. When I looked at the main menu all the ones that had the red dot no longer had them, even though they had been new posts made. This is my question.

The weird part is it is an off and on problem. To be honest it is no that big of a deal. I can always check the times things were posted. It was just something I was wondering and making sure it was just me.

Safari may be pretty stable compared to other browsers, but because about 0.5% of people use it, most codes aren't built with it in mind. If I get a chance i'll take a look into it. Currently looking to see if I can't manufacture a link to automatically take you the last unread post of the last unread topic
